The 12th World Zoroastrian Congress (WZC) will be held in New York City from July 1-4, 2022. The World Congress returns to the United States after 22 years and is expected to attract 1000+ attendees from all over the world.
The World Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra aims to bring the best Zarathushti musical talent to the Congress for a performance that will be inspiring, memorable, and awesome. We are inviting orchestral musicians to join us in this exciting endeavor to present the worldwide audience with an unforgettable evening of musical talent.
Professional as well as advanced amateur musicians who have attained a sufficient level of proficiency to perform are invited to apply. If you would like to participate in this exciting opportunity, please submit an application online for a virtual audition. Deadline to do so is April 1, 2021.
Please note that we will have limited rehearsal time during the Congress before our concert performance. Thus, it is important that you have had prior experience playing with an orchestra. The pieces we will perform will be determined after we have screened all the applicant’s recordings. Upon acceptance to the Orchestra, we will send you the music we will perform for you to practice individually and we will also have some Zoom sessions throughout the year.
The Congress Committee is unfortunately unable to provide you with financial assistance for your participation, travel, or hotel accommodations. In exceptional cases, we will seek to guide and steer you to seeking support from your local Zoroastrian Associations whenever possible.
